Baltimore Breweries for Ravens Game Day

Pregame pint, postgame beer or a full Baltimore brewery day built around kickoff. Here’s where to drink Maryland beer around M&T Bank Stadium.

Patrons wearing Baltimore Ravens jerseys gather in a crowded sports bar decorated with team flags and banners.

Ravens game day is already a pretty good excuse to spend a day in South Baltimore. With five breweries in the neighborhood, you might want to show up a little early.

M8, Pickett and Checkerspot are closest to the action. Give yourself more time for Mystique and Diamondback, or keep the Maryland beer going long after the final whistle.

Start wearing purple and exploring Maryland beer.

GAME DAY: South Baltimore

Checkerspot Brewing Company

Checkerspot sits a short walk from both M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards, with a spacious taproom, kitchen and a broad lineup of beer brewed right there in South Baltimore. For the occasion, look for Bird Is The Word, a honey Kölsch inspired by Baltimore’s two favorite birds.

Known for: Small-batch beer, a broad lineup of styles and Bird Is The Word
The vibe: Plenty of room to gather the crew before kickoff
Game Day move: Make it the meeting spot and save yourself a few “where are you?” texts.

M8 Beer

Tucked underneath 395, M8 brings a little Australia to South Baltimore with beers featuring Australian hops like Galaxy and Vic Secret.

Known for: Aussie-inspired Baltimore beer, Australian hops and a full kitchen
The vibe: Casual, spacious and easy with a group
Game Day move: Meet for a pint and some food before heading to the stadium.

Pickett Brewing Company

Pickett pretty much wrote this one for us: Baltimore beer. Baltimore bluegrass. Baltimore food. Baltimore football. The Pigtown brewery is an easy walk to M&T Bank Stadium, with lagers, pilsners, hazies and seasonal releases on tap.

Known for: Lagers, pilsners, hazies, bluegrass and plenty of Baltimore personality
The vibe: A neighborhood brewery that already feels ready for Ravens Sunday
Game Day move: One on the way in. One on the way out.

Mystique Barrel Brewing & Lager House

Mystique leans into the patient, experimental side of brewing, with mixed-fermentation and barrel-aged beers that can take months or even years to make.

Known for: Lagers, mixed-fermentation beers and barrel-aged ales
The vibe: A neighborhood hang with plenty for beer people to explore
Game Day move: Give yourself some extra time and dig a little deeper into the beer list before kickoff.

Diamondback Brewing Company

Diamondback makes the most sense if you’re starting early. Have a beer in Locust Point, then work your way back through South Baltimore toward M&T Bank Stadium.

Known for: Baltimore-brewed beer in Locust Point
The vibe: A little removed from the immediate stadium rush
Game Day move: Start here early and make South Baltimore part of the day.

Beyond the breweries, a couple great nearby bars keep plenty of Maryland beer on tap.

The vibe: Classic Baltimore ale house with plenty of game-day energy
Game Day move: Grab an Oliver beer and follow the sea of purple toward the stadium.

Game Day move: Pull up a stool and see how much Maryland beer you can explore from one bar.

GAME DAY PLUS: Keep Exploring

Head a little farther from the stadium and there’s plenty more Baltimore beer to explore.

Ministry of Brewing

Just up the hill in Upper Fells Point, Ministry of Brewing pours beer inside the former St. Michael’s Church. The soaring ceilings, stained glass and old church architecture make the taproom worth seeing before you’ve even ordered a beer.

Known for: Locally brewed beer in a former Baltimore church
The vibe: One of the city’s most distinctive taprooms
Game Day Plus move: Head east and have your next round under the stained glass.

Guilford Hall Brewery

North of downtown in Station North, Guilford Hall pairs European-inspired lagers and ales with a restaurant, biergarten and plenty of room to catch the game. Its upstairs Crown Hall also has a 23-foot screen, so this one works just as well when the Ravens are on the road.

Known for: European-inspired beer, a biergarten and a 23-foot screen
The vibe: European beer hall meets Baltimore game day
Game Day Plus move: No ticket required. Grab a beer and watch the Ravens here.

Mobtown Brewing Company

Mobtown brings brewing back to Brewers Hill, the East Baltimore neighborhood once home to National and Gunther. The rotating lineup runs from crisp lagers and hazy IPAs to darker beers, sours and whatever else the brewing team feels like exploring.

Known for: A wide-ranging beer lineup and Brewers Hill roots
The vibe: Laid-back neighborhood brewery with plenty going on
Game Day Plus move: Head east, grab a flight and see what’s new on tap.

Peabody Heights Brewery

Peabody Heights sits on the former site of Old Oriole Park, where Baltimore baseball was played for decades before the brewery moved into the old Royal Crown bottling plant. Today there’s beer, food, events and an entire arcade called The Dugout.

Known for: Approachable beer, Baltimore baseball history and The Dugout arcade
The vibe: Big, lively and a little bit of everything
Game Day Plus move: Trade football for a little baseball history and play a few innings in The Dugout.

Monument City shares its Highlandtown home at Baltimore Brewers’ Haven with Key Brewing, giving you two Baltimore breweries to explore under one roof.

Known for: IPAs, lagers and its flagship 51 Rye
The vibe: Two Baltimore breweries, one laid-back taproom
Game Day Plus move: Double up and try something from both Monument City and Key.

Nepenthe Brewing Co.

Nepenthe started as a homebrew shop before growing into a brewery, restaurant and bar on Falls Road in Hampden. Its name comes from a potion for forgetting sorrow referenced in Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven.

Known for: House-brewed beer, a full kitchen and plenty of options beyond beer
The vibe: Bustling Hampden brewpub with room to settle in
Game Day Plus move: Quoth the Raven, one more beer.

Union Craft Brewing

Union has been brewing in Baltimore since 2011 and now anchors the Union Collective, a former Sears warehouse turned home for local makers. Its flagship Duckpin Pale Ale kicked things off, with a lineup that now stretches from familiar Baltimore favorites to taproom releases.
